Scott Lerner is Senior Vice President, Global Services. He is responsible for Akamai’s Professional Services, Customer Success, and Support Services teams. The Global Services organizations help Akamai customers get the most from Akamai products and services, and assist customers in solving their toughest online challenges. The extended team includes more than 2,400 internet experts based in 26 countries around the world, with expertise in delivery, security, and cloud computing.
Previously, Lerner led Akamai’s Support Services organization, which includes Akamai’s Technical Support (called AkaTec), Security Operations Command Center (SOCC), and Business Operations Command Center (BOCC). Having joined Akamai Technical Support in 2016, he was part of a team that evolved Akamai’s support into a world-class support organization reinvigorating Knowledge-Centered Service and Intelligent Swarming, and maturing the organization by improving both reactive and proactive support.
Prior to joining Akamai in 2005, Lerner was primarily a consultant focused on software engineering for web applications at Computer Sciences Corp, Concrete Inc, and Roundarch (a Deloitte Consulting subsidiary). There, he helped companies that were starting to shift their businesses online, creating new revenue streams and new means to connect with users. In his last role before joining Akamai, he worked with the United States Air Force and taught classes at the Pentagon.
Lerner holds a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Economics from Cornell University.
