Sean Li is Regional Vice President of Sales and Managing Director of Greater China. He is responsible for Akamai’s overall go-to-market strategy in Greater China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. Under his leadership, Greater China has grown to be a key strategic market for Akamai. By leading the cross-functional teams to provide the best cloud computing, delivery, and security services to enterprise-level customers from all industries with digitization ambitions, Li and his team in China are helping customers to expand their global business.
Prior to this position, he was Pre-Sales Director of Akamai’s Media Division in the Asia-Pacific region, leading the team to provide world-class consulting, design, and advisory services of CDN and cloud security solutions to digital media customers. The industries his team covered included broadcasting/OTT, online publishers, social media, gaming, and technology. Under his leadership, his team helped to make the region the fastest-growing theater in Akamai’s global media business.
Li has more than 25 years of IT industry experience in network, telecom, application delivery optimization, and application performance management. Prior to joining Akamai, he held various go-to-market roles at IBM, Cisco, Avaya, and Riverbed.
He is a graduate of Fudan University (Shanghai) with a degree in Computer Science.
