SVP, Strategic Advisor
Noam Freedman is SVP, Strategic Advisor at Akamai. He is responsible for leading the strategy, engineering, product, and go-to-market direction for Akamai’s Compute business. The Compute Team is responsible for helping customers accelerate innovation by making computing simple, scalable, accessible, and affordable to all.
His career with Akamai began in 1999. Most recently, he served in roles leading the Networks and Edge Platform & Products organizations. In these roles, he was responsible for all facets of planning and building out Akamai’s highly distributed global platform, as well as engineering responsibilities for many of Akamai’s core technologies. Prior to that, he served as Chief Architect on Akamai’s Architecture Board, providing technical vision, oversight, and review for engineering and operations efforts across Akamai.
Prior to joining Akamai, he was a member of a computational research group at Argonne National Laboratory and a lecturer in the graduate program in Computer Science at the University of Chicago.
Freedman holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and is also a graduate of the Greater Boston Executive Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. Since December 2020, he has been a member of the board of directors of EdgeConneX.
