Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), a global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services, and KT, the leading telecommunications company in Korea, today announced a partnership that combines ucloud biz, KT’s enterprise cloud service, with Akamai’s global CDN platform, in an effort to help local Korean companies expand overseas.
With this partnership, ucloud customers can quickly deliver original content stored on ucloud servers in the same high quality to users around the world via “ucloud CDN Global”. With just a few clicks, ucloud customers can make use of Akamai’s CDN service in Korea, without having to sign a separate contract.
Through the globally-distributed and extensive Akamai Intelligent PlatformTM, Akamai provides network acceleration, content delivery acceleration and security services delivered through cloud infrastructure, to help enterprises around the world optimize their websites to suit individual needs.

To celebrate of the launch of ucloud CDN Global, KT is offering the use of five ucloud servers and five terabytes of CDN service to 50 selected start-ups preparing for global operations for free. In addition, KT is holding an event until August 31, 2016 for new customers of ucloud CDN Global to benefit from free [infrastructure] (basic capacity of 200GB / KRW25,000 per month) worth up to KRW3.6 million (equivalent to three severs) for up to six months.
