Ping customers can tap into Akamai Account Protector’s machine learning–based risk scoring and trust signals.
This integration allows Ping’s orchestration engine to ingest risk scores from Account Protector and use them to dynamically adjust the user journey, enforcing stronger authentication, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) when needed, or streamlining access when confidence is high.
This approach combines the best of both worlds: Ping’s robust identity orchestration and policy control and Akamai’s real-time threat intelligence and behavior-based anomaly detection. It empowers businesses to prevent account abuse across the entire account lifecycle — from account creation to login and beyond.
How it works
Account Protector analyzes user behavior, device characteristics, and threat intelligence from the edge to generate a real-time risk score for each login attempt or account action throughout the entire account lifecycle. This score is passed directly into Ping’s CIAM platform, where it can be used in authentication flows and policy decisions.
For example, a low-risk user may proceed with a simple login, while a high-risk user might be challenged with MFA or blocked entirely. This seamless integration allows businesses to enforce smarter, adaptive security that enforces trust without creating unnecessary friction.
